Mode 2: steady warm light + sparkle

The second mode combines a warm, steady light with the iconic sparkling of the Eiffel Tower.

The Diamond Light recreates the monument’s famous twinkling effect devised by lighting designer Pierre Bideau at the turn of the millennium in 2000: a 5-minute sparkling sequence followed by 55 minutes of golden ambient lighting. This cycle naturally flows back and forth between sparkling and steady light.

Quick tip: to make sure your lamp sparkles at the same time as the real Eiffel Tower, make sure to switch it on at the stroke of the hour!

A unique way to recreate the Eiffel Tower’s light show at home and experience every hour one of Paris most iconic spectacles.

Mode 3: sparkle only

The third lighting mode is entirely dedicated to the Eiffel Tower’s sparkling light show.

Just like the Iron Lady, the Diamond Light comes to life every hour with a 5-minute twinkling sequence before going dark until the next cycle.

Designed for Paris lovers, history buffs and collectors alike, this mode recreates the iconic sparkling effect at home.

KEY FIGURES

DID YOU KNOW?

The Eiffel Tower’s light bulbs require constant maintenance as they are exposed to wind, rain, extreme heat, frost and regular repainting cycles. Every year, around 400 bulbs are replaced to preserve the beauty of the landmark’s twinkling lights.

Behind this light show admired by millions of visitors lies the daily work of dozens of technicians and craftsmen, whose dedication is key to maintain the Eiffel Tower’s sparkling beauty, generation after generation.

For years, all removed light bulbs were carefully preserved. As silent witnesses to the life of the Eiffel Tower, they bore the marks of history: successive layers of paint, ravages of time, wear from the elements, and memories of a thousand twinkles.

The Diamond Light was born from the notion of passing down such legacy. A piece designed to give a second life to these parts so the magic of the Eiffel Tower could shine far beyond the French capital. That way, each lamp breathes new life into a piece of history once installed 300 metres above ground.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

A COLLECTOR’S ITEM

AN EXCEPTIONAL SHOWCASE FOR A UNIQUE PIECE

Inspired by crates used to  transport works of art, the box containing the Diamond Light points to the history of the project from Gustave Eiffel’s original blueprints to the signatures of its creators.

This bespoke case provides the highest level of protection for the item, wherever it may travel around the world.

INSPIRED BY ARCHITECTURE

The base of the Diamond Light draws direct inspiration from Gustave Eiffel’s historic blueprints.

Its arches and metal latticework created by Parisian design studio A+A Cooren are contemporary reinterpretations of the iconic structural lines of the top of the tower.

A genuine blend of industrial heritage and modern creativity.

Each Diamond Light piece is preserved in its raw state, as close as possible to its original condition. Its small marks, shades and imperfections, tell a story that no reproduction could ever match.

No two pieces are alike: each one carries the memory of the Eiffel Tower.

LAYERS OF PAINT
… and decades of history

Did you know that the Eiffel Tower has changed colour a grand total of eight times? Some light bulbs still bear the marks of these repainting projects, like a unique signature of their time on the monument.

DISTINCTIVE FEATURES
… and unique details

Some light bulbs may feature one side or more that are slightly cloudy or speckled. Invisible from the ground, these specificities bear witness to the bulbs’ past life on the Tower and make these pieces truly unique!

THE SCARS OF TIME
... a testament to its history

Small cracks, slight surface variations or imperfections in the glass bear witness to the many years spent on the Eiffel Tower. These unique features in no way affect the piece’s operation, and in fact contribute to its authenticity!

A numbered copy, certified and under guarantee
